About Andrew Makrides
Andrew Makrides is an anesthesiologist based in Lancaster, PA. He is well-known in the area for his care and expertise and has years of experience in his field. As with many medical professionals, Andrew is dedicated to the well-being of his patients. For this reason, among many others, he opted to focus on anesthesiology and internal medicine.
Before Andrew Makrides could enter the world of medicine, he had to build a foundation of learning. He attended the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Andrew graduated in 1994 with a B.A. degree in Political Science. Furthermore, Andrew is proud of having graduated Magna Cum Laude. Andrew Makrides began his journey through the New York Medical College a year later. He graduated with a Medical Degree in May 1999. However, this was far from the end of Andrew’s educational journey. In 2000, Andrew started his post-graduate education. This began with a Medical Internship through Winthrop University Hospital. He worked here for a year before moving to Mount Sinai Hospital. At Mount Sinai, Andrew Makrides was first an Anesthesiology Resident and then their Chief Resident.
This gave Andrew Makrides the foundation necessary to land his first medical position. In 2003, Andrew Makrides became a Partner for Office-Based Anesthesia Associates, LLC. Here he was responsible for providing anesthesia for the Practice, including Genitourinary, Gastroenterology, Plastic, and Dental Surgeries. Andrew stayed with the Practice until 2016. During this time, Andrew Makrides also worked with Suffolk Anesthesiology Associates, PC, as one of their Partners. Andrew worked with General, Obstetric, Thoracic, Pediatric, and Regional Anesthetics and was the Medical Staff President from 2010 to 2012.
In 2016, Andrew Makrides made a few significant career changes. He became a Partner for Anesthesia Associates of Lancaster, PC. This enabled him to work with Lancaster General Hospital, where he worked with several divisions (General, Obstetric, Thoracic, Trauma, Pediatric, and Regional Anesthetics). Simultaneously, Andrew started working with OSS Orthopedic Hospital and ASC. He worked with their General and Regional Anesthetics and was their Medical Director from 2018-2020.
More recently, Andrew Makrides began working with Citimed ASC. This enabled him to work in a New York location, where he was a Staff Anesthesiologist responsible for General and Regional Anesthetics. Andrew also started working for Surgicare Brooklyn, ASC, as their Medical Director during this time.
Currently, Andrew Makrides holds two positions within the medical industry. He is working with Centaurian Anesthesia, based in New York City. They provide General and Regional Anesthetics to multiple centers in New York. The second role is with Anesthesia Associates of Williamsport, PA. Here, Andrew works with General, Pediatric, Cardiac, Level 2 Trauma, OB, and Regional Anesthesia.
Andrew Makrides holds many licenses, certifications, and memberships. This is one of the ways he works to ensure he can provide the best care possible. He has a New York and Pennsylvania Medical License. Additionally, he has certifications from the Pennsylvania Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Board of Anesthesiology, and the American Society of Anesthesiology.
